| Booking request | A patient's ask for a time, before it becomes a confirmed appointment |
| Buffer | The gap you require between two sessions |
| Credit note | A document that corrects an already-issued invoice without changing it |
| Daily close | Comparing recorded totals against each payment account at day's end |
| Payer claim | A patient saying they paid; it does not move a balance until staff verify it |
| Reference number | The number Caresoft assigns a patient within your practice |
| Severity range | The band an assessment score falls into, for example PHQ-9's moderate range |
| Timeline event | One entry on a patient's clinical timeline |
